My pomegranate headed off to The Big Smoke to see The Terracotta Army last night. We both bought tickets ages ago but, despite us booking pretty well in advance, we could only get a time slot at 10.30pm. Because this week has been such a huge, stonkin’ nightmare, i am absolutely exhausted and made the decision a couple of days ago to relinquish my ticket and pass up on the adventure. boB has gone with his friend Marky instead, who, it turns out, is really interested in this particular branch of history. This is my good deed for the day, folks.
While i was pretty disappointed to give this opportunity up and miss out on visiting the latest exhibit at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, i decided that i had to be sensible and actually rest up if i ever want to regain energy enough to do the many projects i’ve been meaning to get round to {a few fabric projects: an apron and perhaps a dress, vegetable seeding and a general tidying of our garden, a couple of cooking goodies, …}.
And so last noche became an evening of tidying followed by a spot of indulgence. I decided to concoct something delicious from the goodies we’d picked up at No.8 Deli’ this afternoon. I threw some green pepper, mushrooms, fresh and tinned tomatoes, hot chorizo, broccoli, paprika, cayenne pepper and chilli powder into the mix to make a great pasta sauce. I found myself glad that my boy had disappeared on me because it definitely would have decimated his delicate little palette.
I sat down in front of E.R., one of the only t.v. shows i’ve watched since the very beginning {i can be a very fickle t.v. viewer} and ate my hot chorizo pasta with some pomegranate juice. Lip smackin’ good me thinks.
To Do ::
:: I’m still on the hunt for some really great fabric with which to make my full apron to wear at G.S. H.Q. {and perhaps, if that’s successful, a second one to wear at home}. I’d like some fairly pale, vintage-looking stuff that’s not too expensive, but i seem to be drawing a blank.
:: I want to grab a nice new wooden frame in readiness for when Trina’s spring time present arrives at my doorstep.
:: I need to get a couple of nice papers to make her spring gift look pretty.
:: I’m considering suggesting to Jeffers that we stick to Pie Day Friday and alternate weeks. I don’t want to commit to this before i’m 100% sure i can cope with it.
:: I want to grab some nice frames and some good beige sacking to do some chain stitch designs on.
:: I need to grab some medium format film for my new Holga. It’ll be arriving soon and i’m so excited.
Of interest ::
:: This hobbit-like house is amazing and so beautiful. All i need to do is scrape together, what?, 3000 squid and i’m making one just like it.
:: I so need a holiday.
:: I found a really nice Brit’ Blog, Peapods today with some nice crafty bits which in turn lead me to Jekka’s Herb Farm. Me thinks boB and i will be making good use of this resource to get crackin’ on our herb garden…
Oooh hello! Glad you liked
I am fairly new with the ol’blog. I am going to bookmark you too, I fully agree that there are not that many UK blogs of a certain type.
I hope that you have success with the no knead bread. I am put off by I think you need a specific type of crock pot to cook it in?

Hey hey. Nice to see you!
I’ll let everyone know how i get on with it. I’m just going to try cooking it in one of my sturdy oven-proof casserole dishes first of all. Fingers crossed. It looks like, once you’ve got it right, a whole world of easy bread goodness is open to you {the cinnamon rolls look delicious…}.
